The Cowboys’ latest contract offer to quarterback Dak Prescott reportedly includes $33 million annually with $105 million guaranteed according to the Dallas Morning News.
While the guarantees are likely higher, it is the same annual average value Prescott turned down in September and may still not be enough to lock down their franchise quarterback long-term. Dallas has been in a holding pattern with both Prescott and wideout Amari Cooper due to CBA negotiations.
The Cowboys have until Thursday to franchise Prescott — something that is fully expected to happen if the sides can’t reach a long-term deal. But that is just postponing the issue and, contrary to what owner/GM Jerry Jones may think, Prescott and his agent hold all the winning cards in this negotiation.
