After a season in which the Cowboys defense was abysmal to watch, ranking last in the league, the team is already thinking about bringing in players to help rebound in 2021.
One player the team has spoken about bringing in is five-time Pro Bowl cornerback Richard Sherman, who appeared in just five games last season due to injury.
CBS Sports’ Patrik Walker stated that the Cowboys have had internal chats about Sherman, adding him to a defensive backfield that gave up way too many big plays last season.
Sherman is 32 years old, so he’s not the long term answer at corner, but right now he would be a fit the way the team played this past season.
Don’t look for the Cowboys to break the bank on Sherman, as injuries have been an issue the last few seasons for him, as he’s missed 21 games in the last four seasons after he didn’t miss a single contest in his first six years playing in Seattle.
Dallas recently brought in Dan Quinn as the team’s new defensive coordinator, and he was the DC while Sherman was the vocal leader of the Seahawks “Legion of Boom” when they went to back to back Super Bowls.
