One ESPN Analyst Says the Cowboys Should Deal Dak Prescott For Texans QB Deshaun Watson

The Cowboys still have a massive fiscal decision to make this offseason when it comes to quarterback Dak Prescott, who last season played on a one-year deal under the franchise tag, making just over $30 million.

Prescott, who missed a majority of the season due to injury, is set for another butting of the heads with the Cowboys this offseason, as reports are the Cowboys want to get him inked long term, but as we learned in 2020 that’s easier said than done.

One ESPN analyst has an answer to the situation, one so far out there that it just might make sense for all parties involved.

That answer is to ink Prescott, then trade him to the Houston Texans, who in return would send unhappy QB Deshaun Watson to Big D.

The analyst from ESPN who came up with the idea is the always outspoken Stephen A. Smith, who said on the network today that a deal of Prescott to the Texans for Watson actually does make sense for all parties involved.

Prescott is 27 years old, while Watson is 25, so age isn’t a huge issue as both QB’s have plenty of productive years left in the NFL.

Watson is playing on a four-year, $156 million dollar contract he inked with Houston, a deal that the Cowboys would swallow up if a deal to move Prescott to Houston would actually happen.

It might sound like fantasy football, but in this day and age when all players have to do is say they are “unhappy” and they can get dealt, it might be a move more worth looking into.
